About DEBORA

We exist to bring high quality, assessble and equitable arts (theatre, instrumental, dance, voice) to children/youth of all abilities and backgrounds here in Southern California.

Arts & Learning Conservatory (ALC) was awarded Arts Organization of The Year of Orange County in 2015 for it's effective outreach to youth. In 2019 the CEO, Debora Wondercheck, was named Orange County's Arts Influencer of the Year at the Segertrom Perfoming Arts Center.

ALC has received numerous other awards over the years and has established partnerships with Pacific Symphony, Disneylan Community Arts, Orange County Department of Education and more.

We enjoy setting students up for success in the performing arts (theatre, instrumental, voice, dance), watching grow from beginner to a level of mastery.

B.A. in Music Education and Masters Degree.

The Arts & Learing Conservatory has over 15 years exeprience of bringing high quality performing arts programs to youth. Our CEO, Debora Wondercheck, only hires top instructors (theatre, instrumental, voice, dance) to train our students. Debora's background includes 25 years teaching cello and strings (violin/viola) as a pedagouge and Adjunct professor of music, as well as conducting superior rated youth orchestras throughout Southern California. As a respected arts educator, she conitnues to help reinstate music programs in school districts where either a program was eliminated or their program needs revamping.

About the lesson

Finding out their interests, goals, what they would like to accomplish and learn during the lesson is the most important. From there, a solid foundation is then built that will bring out the absolute most fulfilling experience for both the student and instructor.

All types: from those with special needs to extremely advanced.

Do your research. Know who you are wanting to work with, the accomplishments they have had and the resources they would bring in a lesson. When you go for a trail lesson, have a list of questions to ask. They are interviewing you but you are also interviewing them to also see if their personality is a good fit.

A student who joined our conservatory class came from a school where he was bullied, He shared with his mom that he enjoyed being in our music class because in our class he felt "safe". This was true compliment. We treat all students with respect and fairness, and hold students to the same high level of expectation, especially in a group setting.
