About Bernadette

What makes my job so exciting for me is watching the excitement you exercixe. I love teaching and sharing my skills with others. It is so awesome to watch you succeed in what you do.

I've been teaching movement specializing in ballet for 30 years. I'm a certifed exercise therapist, pilates teacher and a licensed GYROTONIC(R) trainer. I was a professional ballet dancer for many years. I bring my weath of knowledge of movement to you.

I began teaching as a assistant preballet teacher at Dance Theater of Harlem. Then my skills grew as a teacher. Which lead me to teach in public, private schools and on the university level.

Bernadette is a former professional ballet dancer and ballet teacher. She has been a professor of dance and a dance lecturer. After a successful career in the arts she made the decision to follow her passion for alternative medicine. By majoring in Alternative medicine in college which lead her to make the connection that movement and alternative medicine can be used together to full help those with chronic illnesses, cancer and just everyday wear and tear on the body. Bernadette has suffered her own physical challenges such as having lupus and losing her eye sight due to her lupus. After fighting to restore sight, she discovered how important proper nutrition and exercise is to the well-being of ones body. She has also helped improved the quality of life for those with cancer and chronic illness through the use of movement and alternative medicine

Bernadette’s undergrad degree of study is in Alternative Medicine, She is also a Certified Exercise Therapist, a License GYROTONIC® Trainer, a Certified Sports Nutritionist, a Certified Weight Management Specialist, Pilates Rehabilitation Specialist, Adaptive Yoga Specialist and a Master Herbalist. She is also completing her doctorate in Ayurveda medicine and is completing her internships at Healthy Body Healthy Living Wellness Center.

About the lesson

When first starting out with a new student. I like to get to know what the student's goal is.

I've work with students of all ages, skill levels and ability levels.
