About Alexis
I used to work at a tutoring center in my local area, so I have experience tutoring students grades K-12 in a wide variety of subjects. Besides tutoring, I also have experience working with kids through my past jobs as a swim instructor and babysitter. I have also worked with college students during my time as a teaching assistant and tutor for upper-level science classes at a top undergraduate university.
I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school, undergraduate, and my postgraduate education.
I understand how frustrating it is when you can't understand a topic or aren't seeing results that match the effort you've put in, and I want to support students so that they can overcome these frustrations. I enjoy tutoring because I want to help them truly learn their material and have a better outlook on school and their education.

In the first session I like to get to know my students so that they can be more comfortable working with me. I usually take a few minutes to ask them what they are struggling with, what they enjoy about school, what their hobbies, etc. After we've broken the ice a little bit, then we can get started with the session.
