About Jeanine
When I was a teenager in a martial arts school I was given the 'difficult' students because nobody else knew what to do with them. Not only was I able to teach those students I was able to have fun while doing it! I haven't looked back since then.
I work as a subsititue teacher in three different school districts as a district wide subsitute. This means I get to see so many different teaching styles, and learning styles that I can then use to help my students.
I have also been instructing children since I was a teenager, worked for an educational camp in Boulder CO and I am earning a degree in biology with a minor in education.

I always want to start off with a strong foundation. This means asking a lot of questions!
What subjects are you struggling in? What subjects are important to you? How do you study in subjects that you don't struggle with? What are your future goals in and outside of school?
All of these help me get to know how I can help a new student out specifically.
As a subsitute teacher I frequently work in special needs departments, both SSN and AN programs. I also work in general education classrooms with my favorite grades being between fourth and seventh.
Previously I have worked with students of all abilities ages six to sixteen in several contexts including a tradtional classroom, educational summer camp, and martial arts school.
If you are a student or the parent of a student who has learning disabilites trust your gut when first meeting them.
If you feel blamed, dismissed, or even just rubbed the wrong way consider other options. Its important to validate healthy ways of thinking about yourself and your work and teachers can change that more than you realize.
