About Christine
Hi, I’m Christine. With more than 12 years of successful tutoring experience in Anatomy and Physiology, Biology (AP, honors, and college) and Elementary Science resulting in extraordinary student outcomes and an extensive background in science education, I welcome the opportunity to deliver the same kind of focused commitment to a student with a drive to make a difference through improvement.
I address the needs of a student and focus on their progress. As a tutor, I am flexible, innovative and adaptive, encouraging critical thinking. My extensive experience has enabled me to understand that successful tutoring entails patience and perseverance, both in private home-settings (private tutoring) as well as in classroom settings (instruction), and must be tailored to meet each student’s need. In this respect, my goal has always been constant improvement in keeping students engaged and focused on the topics they might find difficult, facilitating a clearer understanding of core concepts and helping students make connections between facts. Different approaches to understanding concepts presented have proven to be my strong points. I target instruction for improved understanding, while treating students with respect and dignity.
I have excellent communication skills because of 12+ years’ experience, as I am a leader in the remediation of learning difficulties. I have interacted closely, positively and professionally with many science professors, colleagues and students, not to mention I was once a student myself with a personal passion for science, specifically biological science, so I have an understanding of what seems difficult but really just needs proper guidance. I can genuinely say I know what professors, instructors and teachers want. Offering guidance and assistance, I have a passion for science, and a focus on the importance of critical thinking in understanding it.
My extensive subject knowledge, individual instruction and ability to foster discussions relating to the material definitively improves progress. My methods are flexible, innovative and adaptive for goal attainment. Working one-on-one with students in a tutoring session, I am focused on helping students achieve their full potential for excellence, providing individual instruction to motivate students and effectively utilize the time available for instruction
There is nothing like the look in a student's eyes when they finally get it! AND when they realize they can do this! I have seen that look frequently with students who took Anatomy and Physiology as a Nursing prerequisite, it's wonderful.
