About Elizabeth
I am a recent college graduate working on course work preparing to apply to medical school. I have also been affected by the recent pandemic. Having to relocate, I am looking for the ability to use my scientific background to help students who have been displaced to homeschooling. The burden on parents and teachers during this time makes the need for extra help for students even more important. My mom is also a middle school teacher and hearing her experiences during this transition showed me how I can help. Although I have never tutored before, I have been told I have a way of explaining topics that makes sense and helps others understand when overwhlemed or confused by the material. I am a middle school lacrosse coach and have a passion for teaching others things that I love, like lacrosse and science. I want to apply my coaching skills to helping others with science coursework.
I have a degree in Molecular Biology from Ohio Northern University. I completed three semesters of independent research as well. I have a micropublication through my genetics course as well as many presentations of my research. The courses I have taken at ONU that have prepared me for tutoring the related high school and middle school topics are:
Biology 1,2 and 3 covering honors, AP, and regular Biology topics of HS courses
