About Oscar
I am a published researcher, current 3rd year medical student with a bachelors in neuroscience and masters in medical science. Throughout the years I have tutored and mentored many students in math and science. Whether your student is prepping for the Medical College Admission Test or high school anatomy, let me instill a passion for learning that will carry them to success in their academic pursuits as well as life. My favorite subjects are Anatomy and Biochemistry. As a father of two young children, I understand the importance of patience and that learning must be taylored to each individual student.
My favorite part of the job is seeing students have that "oh, i get it" in which they can not only answer questions correctly but also apply the knowledge and concepts in a novel way.
I first started tutoring in high school. My friends needed help with chemistry and physics. Eventually, their grades went up on quizzes and exams and their parents offered to pay me for regular sessions. While in college I tutored in the science and math labs on campus. Then in graduate school hosted elementary and middle school science fairs. Finally, in medical school I taught Gross Anatomy and UltraSound workshops.

Typically, I speak to the student's parents if they are a minor during the initial corespondence. Next, we would establish the nature of the work and/or subjects. Lastly, we would find time to meet or use video conference depending on personal preferences.
I have worked with K-12, college, graduate, and Medical School levels
I would empore students to seek out instructors that know the content at a sophisticated depth but can also distilla and explain concepts in the simplest manner.
Last summer I hosted a Med School camp for teens called the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine. This event held over three days and facilited over 300 high school age students looking to pursue careers in healthcare. We put on learning and hands on workshops to engage the students and inspire long term goals like becoming physicians.
