About Connie

We have developed training courses for some of the largest organizations including Comcast, Panasonic, Siemens, Honeywell, Tyco, Johnson Controls and many more. Personally, I love teaching and have a passion for sharing my knowledge with others. Passing on knowledge and skills is a gift I get to share with others. Being a leader is not about having knowledge and hoarding it, but rather a true leader shares what they know and helps educate the next generation of leaders.

Many years ago the company I was working for was installing all new end-user software such as Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. I took courses and self-taught until I was an expert in the packages then I starting teaching in house so all the company employees could gain strong skills in this new software. From there I began teaching corporate and professional development courses for a local university (Sullivan) which lead to teaching private sessions for individuals and for companies that needed to learn software and professional development.

I have a BS degree in Psychology and Philosophy. I have taught at the corporate and university level for over 30 years. I have been certified in numerous Windows products and have taken many professional development training sessions on topics such as marketing, social media, sales development, and much more.

About the lesson

My goal is to determine your reason for tutoring whether it be for a course, for work, for professional development or for continuing education studies. Then I can more effectively apply my expertise to your specific needs.

Most of the students I have taught have been at the corporate level with minimal skills to begin. I also developed a certified Train-the-Trainer course which Microsoft used from 1997-2008.

While you don't need to be friends with your instructor it is good to work with someone with whom you can develop a positive rapport. Perhaps someone that has your professional background or aspirations. The student should pick an instructor with whom they have something in common. This is important because the best learning and retention takes place when the instructor relates the course materials to something the student can practically apply.

I just returned from a trade show and speaking opportunity at a technical conference in Denver, CO. The presentation I gave was for advanced C-Level students who needed to grasp licensing and compliance issues within the physical security market.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The main question is "where do I want to be in my career/life after completing this training". By setting this learning objective you can keep your eyes on the target or end result, not as much on the method or process to get there.
