Hi, there. :P Ni hao :P

I'm Chinese, a Mandarin speaker. As a new immigrant, I just moved here three months ago. I stayed in Beijing for 7 years for my bachelor's and master's programs. During college, I worked as an English tutor for a 7-year-old girl for two years. She liked me and I enjoyed spending time with her. Also, I was a teacher for Compulsory English lectures for postgraduate students.

If you're learning Chinese and already have a plan, we can work on it together. If you just curious but know nothing about Chinese, I can help you with all I know. I brought textbooks for HSK(Chinese Proficiency Test), reading materials about Chinese culture, and Chinese books. I already passed the Mandarin Speaking test with an A. Although I'm not the best, I keep trying hard to learn to be a good teacher. I really enjoy the time with my students. They are not only my students but also friends. We can learn from each other no matter how old my students are.

During my postgraduate years, my mentor suggested I could teach undergraduates English. I was unconfident with teaching then but tried to do it. After several weeks, I surprisingly found myself not nervous about teaching anymore. With a whole academic year's experience, I'm now becoming a Chinese tutor.

I finished my Bachelor's and Master's programs in Beijing. During the 7 years, I worked as a tutor for a lady and her 7-year-old daughter to improve their English. Also, I worked as a lecturer on English in 2017-2018 for postgraduates. This three-year experience of teaching helps me start a Chinese tutor job here.

About the lesson

First of all, a discussion about learning goals is necessary. Only we both clearly understand the goals and lesson plans can we work together better.

Second, how much Chinese a student has learned is the question I have to figure out before teaching. From some simple topics, as simple as introducing yourself in Chinese, that helps me a lot understand your ongoing learning.

2015-2017, I've worked with a lady with her 7-year-old daughter for more than two years.

2017-2018, I worked as a lecturer on English for undergraduates and postgraduates. Two different types of classes at the same time.

First of all, the best way to learn a new language is to talk with native speakers. So looking for a native speaker as a teacher is the most important.

Second, whether the teacher responsible or enthusiastic is more important than experience. In my opinion, a responsible teacher will always try best to provide lessons and answer questions, most of them will make a unique plan for different students. While a teacher with lots of experience may treat teaching as an assembly line and make all students get the same lesson and repeat again.

Recently, I played puzzles a lot. I just finished a jigsaw puzzle with 500 pieces. I thought it was difficult, luckily I found clues with colors and shadows of mountains. Move to the next tomorrow. :D

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How much they want to learn and how much they have already known, these two are important to any new tutor who wants to begin with a new lesson. Of course, the hourly rate for their tutor and their schedule should also present to a new teacher. And don't forget, shower your teacher your confident and strong willingness to learn something.

At present, I made my hourly rate at 25USD. Before starting our official class, I prefer to talk about some basic information with my students. First, the goals. We both need to make it clear that we have the same goal in Chinese learning. Second, the basic Chinese knowledge my students already have. The whole teaching process is based on the goals and the basis, I can help effectively only after I get the above information clear.
