About Virginia
Hello! I am Virginia, an experienced tutor who has been tutoring for Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin), Math, Business, Marketing, and Music (Piano, theory, and songwriting) since 2013. I am willing to go above and beyond to meet the requirements of the students. I ensure that I can teach students well to make sure they understand everything easily, and I will assist them in realizing their academic goals professionally.
I started doing the tutoring field because there's one time I got to help my friend's kids which is four in the group for their English and Mathematics assignment as well as piano and found my talent that I can be able to help some people and teach pretty well. Therefore; I started working as a tutor since seven years ago and I found that I'm passionate about helping others no matter what age they are at.
I have been teaching consistently for over 10 years in Hong Kong as well as in the States (Dallas, Seattle) and feel well equipped to helping my students to improve their own language skills.

I am going to assess my students' language capability, start planning my students' study schedule, make a consultation appointment with them as well as getting a clear understanding of what the students need and own expectations for our language lessons are.
Preschool age, Kindergarten, Elementary school, Middle school, high school, college students, graduate students, job interviewee, musician.
I would advise to not focus on the price (I'm giving our discount at the moment due to COVID-19 though) but the quality of service you will receive. My goal is for my student to solve their problem instead of struggling and not getting help. I do provide a good learning environment for all my students. I wish I've helped them to be able to think and do their best. This is my greatest payment.
I currently having 40 students learning different kind of subjects with me and I added up to one more student yesterday that he's trying to have more lessons with me during summer.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I highly recommend studets
- to be prepared to ask questions (I love student when they ask me question)
I don't bite but I really want to help my students succeed. I also help my students to learn what they are doing incorrectly and make sure they don't make the same mistake again and having an improvement after taking my lesson.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
She’s great on teaching Mandarin, especially for small kids! My son he is five years old, it’s difficult to keep his focus during class. But Virginia has lots of teaching methods to catch his attention, and he can speak a little bit Mandarin now!
I am so glad that I have Virginia as my teacher for Cantonese. Virginia is so patient when I ask her questions. She will break down the part to make me understand. She uses picture video, drawing to make the class more funny and easy to remember the logic of the language.
It’s hard to find a great tutor. Virginia probably is one of the best tutors my boys have had thus far. She’s very professional and great with the boys. If you are looking for a great tutor. Here she is! Highly recommend her to everyone!!!

I do provide to have a free consultation with my student via online before we discuss the next steps as I care about quality instead of just receiving the payment then leave. For this service, my student will get to know who I am and what I'm here for and get to know each other's personalities. Once we realize we can work together we will straightly move forward.
