About Johnny
Hi, my name's Johnny, and I'm from California. I have a Bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of California, Irvine, I'm 1 class shy of a Bachelor's degree in computer science from Oregon State University, and I have a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from Cambridge Assessment English, part of the University of Cambridge.
I taught ESL in Vietnam for a year, and I have over 7 years of experience teaching high schoolers SAT I, SAT II, and AP prep courses in chemistry, physics, all maths from algebra to calculus, and statistics for college credit (in partnership with Oklahoma University). I believe that students are capable of learning anything they set their minds to, with the right attitude and the right teacher, and that the learning process can, and should, be fun. I care about my students, and I'm proud to say that I've helped many of them get into the best colleges in America.
I'll teach you what you need to learn in order to reach your personal, educational, and/or professional goals. In love with an English-speaking boy or girl? I'll be your Cyrano de Bergerac. Want to write better essays in English? I'll teach you critical thinking and writing skills. Want a job at an international company? I'll do everything I can to help you land that job. We'll expand your vocabulary, work on your pronunciation, and improve your listening, reading, and writing skills and command of the English language.
