About Kathryn
Hi everyone, my name is Kathryn! I am currently completing my last semester at Kennesaw State University. I am an Information Technology major with a concentration is cyber security. In the ever-changing world technology, working in tech is the place to be! If your child, or even yourself, are interested in learning the basics in different areas of computing, such as programming, I'm your girl! It's never too early or late to begin. I currently work as a cloud engineer at a software testing company in Buckhead and have been programming for over 2 years now. My favorite languages are C# and Python. As all computer scientists know, you can never know everything. Reach out to discuss exactly what you would like to learn, whether it is specific or beginner material, and we can see if we are a good match based on my current skill set!
I enjoy the work I do because it is all around me every day! The world is full of technology and it can be interesting to know about it more in depth. Additionally, technology is a wonderful career path and I enjoy my work.
I am about to graduate from KSU in May with an Information Technology degree with a concentration in Cyber Security. I am currently employed as a Cloud Engineer at a software testing company in Buckhead. I have corse work and practical experience in several areas relating to computer science.

First, I would like to properly assess where the student's current skill level is at with algebra and problem solving. After assessing and seeing if we are a good fit, I would start by using the course outlines I used to learn programming to see how quickly the student understands the material. If the student is struggling with the basic material, I would need to find a simpler/visual approach to explaining the basics. The basics are crucial in programming and all things technology related, so the beginning is the most important. As we advance past badic concepts, I would begin doing small labs/examples using Visual Studio Code or another IDE to provide a hands-on experience and reinforce learned materials.
