About
I'm very blessed to have been able to support myself with my art for the past several years. I am very much a people-person and love teaching, and nothing brings me greater joy than seeing a student thrilled with their own artistic improvements! I have a degree in Art History/Studio Art so I'm well-informed on varying methods and styles of creation.
My artwork was featured by Instagram in 2016 and I have been sponsored by artist brands such as Strathmore, Rembrandt, and Amsterdam Artist Materials.
I love guiding people along in their artistic development! I am well-trained in assessing people's skill level and helping to take them to the next level.
I first started teaching while I was traveling in Ecuador and painting murals back in 2015. A mother asked me to teach her children how to paint (in Spanish!) and I've been in love with it ever since.
I have a bachelor's degree in Art History/Studio Art. Beyond this I have over 20 years of private artistic training in varying mediums.

I like to assess a student's level by asking them to show me some of their work- If they don't have any, that is fine, and I may ask them to do a quick exercise to see their instinctive use of media. I also ask what goals they have and what mediums they're most interested in working with.
I've worked with children and adults in various places- Ecuador, Italy, and New York. I've taught in Spanish and English.
The skill and experience of the teacher is key, but also make sure that your teacher is someone that you feel encouraged by. I've heard far too many horror stories of students with immense potential being discouraged by their teachers, and I really don't like that!
My most recent students were at a Montessori school, and I really love teaching according to that model because it allows a lot of freedom for the student to explore what they enjoy. I taught them how to replicate a drip painting technique I developed, and it was amazing to see how these young people came up with techniques of their own that I hadn't even thought of!

My son loved working with Lexi! She is so kind and encouraging. I definitely noticed a huge improvement in my son's work over the course of his time working with her- She knows a lot about different art styles so she was able to help him a lot with the styles he wanted to learn.
