I love art and I love kids (I have 6 of my own) so everything just intersected.
I have been painting graffiti for 38 years (I am now 52). I have been teaching children, teens and adults in a classroom setting for the last 10 years.

My classes start out half graffiti history and culture and half fundementals. I often tailor my lesson plan specifically for the age and interest of my student.
I have worked with every type of student from gang kids and teens in DC Jail, to elementary school children and high school kids in DC Public Libraries as well as adults of all interest levels.
Make sure you are hiring an actual experienced graffiti artist. Many have learned techniques from the internet, but do not know the history or the motivations behind real graffiti art!
I just wrapped up a summer camp for the visual arts where I taught a different aspect of street art every week. We did hanging wire sculptures, spray chalk stencils and worked with water-based spray paint. So much fun!
