About Keri

I am a certified art teacher from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I teach private fine art lessons in drawing and painting and can also teach other areas of art if interested.

I currently teach art in the public schools part time as well as these private lessons. If you are interested in excelling in your art skills or learning a new art skill I would be happy to work with you in private lessons.

I enjoy creating art and painting and drawing. Spending my off time painting on my own and doing sketches and Watercolors, acrylic and mixed media and many other forms of art. I find art comforting and just a part of my very day life.

I started teaching when. I graduated from SAIC

BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with certification K-12 Art Endorsed

I studied all sorts of mediums ranging from different forms of paintings Acrylic and oils and watercolors and then paper making to book binding and then I truly enjoyed all my studies in fugitive drawing and painting and then ceramics throwing and sculpture and slab building

About the lesson

The typical process for me is first getting to know where each of my students is in their art skills of that certain tool or material they are wanting to learn so I know where we are starting from and how to approach each student. I never want to frustrate anyone intruding a new medium or material. Art should be enjoyable but also it is something that one should practice at like an instrument at home. This is why each student should purchase their own supplies to have for work at home.

I have worked with students in all age range from very young to older retired individuals I’ve worked with large groups and small groups and individuals.

Be prepared to get some of your own supplies because this is something you are interested in perusing and wanting to working learning and some supplies provided but not a lot.

I am very fond of recently working in this cafe doing art classes and people can come and show up if they are interested in the course I am offering. I get a nice diverse group.

I don’t have a stand and pricing it varies with the level of art and the intensity of the lessons and the hours of work we are doing. I generally teach my classes at this cafe I utilize the space and sometimes I teach oneon one classes but prefer group lessons.
