About Cameron

I offer technical instruction in oil and acrylic painting, conceptual feedback, and perspective as working contemporary artist.
I studied under well-known artists at RISD and UCLA, where I was awarded my BFA and MFA respectively. Prior to becoming a tutor I was the co-founder and co-director of an established artist-run gallery. I have experience an instructor for college-level students and high schoolers, of all skill levels and backgrounds, in studio setting as well as over Zoom.

I enjoy seeing students make impressive strides with their work, and am fascinated by the problem-solving aspects of artmaking. I genuinely believe that anyone can make pieces that are meaningful and complex, and have been consistently amazed by my students' art.

I recently graduated with an MFA in painting from UCLA's Department of Art, currently ranked the #1 fine art program in the US (according to US News and World Report, as if art or education can be objectively measured). I was a high school art instructor for three of UCLA's Summer Institute sessions in 2020, and have been a teaching assistant for UCLA undergraduates on nine occasions. I got my BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, and an Associates Degree from Bard.
I speak fluent Spanish and college-level German, and prioritize teaching art not only from an American or European lens but with the whole world in mind.
