About Decheng
I am a young contemporary artist living in Chicago, USA. I graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (TOP2 in Art School, US NEWS), a postgraduate program in Painting and Drawing (TOP2 in Painting and Drawing, US NEWS). This project can be regarded as one of the top contemporary art education projects in the world. I have two years of teaching assistant experience at SAIC and half a year of online class experience.
I have always regarded education as the best way to realize my ideals in life, so I enroll students here. This course is only suitable for two types of people: first, those who do not have financial pressure and want to know more about or engage in contemporary art (this is really not a major that comes with money, and are afraid of delaying children); second, those who are preparing to apply for an art study abroad portfolio student.
The purpose and content of this course is to lead students to understand the current situation of contemporary art and to help students find their own artistic path. Please note that the core content here is contemporary art, not art language such as painting, sculpture, and new media. Artistic languages such as painting and sculpture are only part of the art work, but by no means all. I will teach part of the course about materials and techniques, but this will never be the focus.
The core of contemporary art is freedom and self, so this course will be a one-to-one online teaching model from beginning to end. Due to my limited energy, I only enroll 3 students this time. I will select students based on their current status and the fit of their study goals with my course. The first lesson is a free trial lesson, which is mainly used to enable students to better understand me and my courses and to enable me to grasp the current status of the students and the purpose of studying. The time, frequency and fees of subsequent courses will be determined according to the different needs and circumstances of the students.
