About Lyndsey
I am a trained charcoal and acrylic artist specializing in black and white portraits. I use art both therapeutically and for fun. I love the challenge of finding the best technique and style for the individual. Art is about the process, not the product... but it is always fun to have a finished product to be proud of! Lets create some works of art together!
I am a student studying social work and psychology. I love being able to tie my studies into my projects. Whether that be to use symbolism to draw subconcious emotions or being able to utilize art therapy techniques with my clients to better understand an emotion; I love all of it.
Through requests of friends and family.
I studied art through high school and college and have taken additional art and craft lessons in my free time. I have worked as a peer counselor for 2 years providing therapeutic art techniques. I also helped run an after school program at a homeless shelter creating various art projects for the children that resided in the shelter. In addition to my professional backgroud, I give lessons to friends and family from time to time.

I usually start with learning how to understand the medium. This includes practicing with various tools and techniques. After we've become comfortable with the materials, we can start on projects. I support, give advice, show examples, and help in any way needed. Every student is individual so I remain open minded and flexible, just as I ask of my students.
To remain open minded. Art is subjective and everybody has their own unique style. The more you practice and the more techniques you learn, the easier it will be to find yours.

Lyndsey does a phenomenal job making art fun. She teaches you that art is subjective and makes it a fun creative exercise. She taught me how to do shades, improvising as you go, and you don’t need to be the next Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, or Lyndsey Norris Collette to enjoy making art.
