About Antonia

Off and on over the years. In Mexico City I had a live model drawing group workshop in my studio for ages ranging from 20 to 40 yrs. I later continued with individual private classes in Mexico City and in New York City.

I have a life-long career as an artist with exhibitions in the United States, Spain, France, Germany, Rumania, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Drawing has been the backbone of my visual language with a wide range of experimentation and techniques.

About the lesson

It depends on the interests, experience and age group of the student but usually will start w some loose, informal exercises so that I can observe the abilities of the individual. Basically two types of exercises: one interpreting an object (s), the other a free form or abstract rendition.

Age ranges from 20 to 70 yrs

I find it recommendable to be open and receptive to different approaches to drawing because it is a wide and varied genre and there is no one set rule, nor technique. The important thing is to allow the creative energy to manifest.

I was at an Artist in Residence at Draw International in Caylus, France during September 2019. Upon my return I gave an Artist Talk at Artspace PS109, NYC, about the work I produced during my residency.

Is the student i terested in a pastime or interested in learning a craft or a specific form of drawing for example is it academic or is it something else How much time out of class is devoted to completing assignments.
