About Raven
I have a Bachelor's in Art from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I've been creating for over a decade, and I have been given the opportunity to learn a lot of different mediums. I primarily focus in painting and ceramics at the moment. I'm passionate about my craft and I've always loved teaching others about the creativity they have within themselves.

Art for me has always been very therapeutic and I could see how much it actually helps anyone to create something of you're own. I used to see people wanting to create but just not knowing how, that's why I started teaching. I teach anyone, no matter what age, art is helpful.
I tutored the introduction to painting for 2 terms at UNCP.
I've also taught non art majors/bystanders many times on paintings, drawings, and ceramics that were simply interested in learning the craft.

I start the student my getting familiar with the medium (mixing paint, drawing scales, etc...) Then I begin with a loose assignment, encouraging creativity and thinking outside the box, I try and see what the student likes and dislikes about the assignment to see how to best challenge them in a way that they're excited to learn more. As the assignments progress, I'm continually challenging not just their skill but thought process on how to go about the assignment.

It's okay if everything is not perfect, just breath, let your mind go and create. You'll really surprise yourself.
