About George

I'm a practicing architect (which is an inhibition to fine art) and I am an active Plein Air painter who travels to paint in juried limited painting events. I believe in painting paintings, and I am getting away from painting pictures. Paintings are much more dynamic and interesting.

I'm presently creating a website and I post often on face book. Most of my FB friends are artist.

I have taught architectural design and given workshops in various elements of art. I'm considereda good teacher and I am dedicated to a student developmeing THEIR art - not art the way I create it.

I got started teaching when someone noticed the raport I had with younger people and the enjoyment I get about being around freshly creative minds and attitudes. It's refreshing for me.

I am a trained and registered practicing architect. Some of that training and experience has served me well. Much of it inhibits the "loose" approach to fine art that I love to produce. So in amny ways, the frustrations of my own experience and productions will be very informative to be discussed with those around me. Teaching can be very effective in a team problem solving context.

About the lesson

Reviewing their past work - if it exist, and letting them critique mine to get started. I have magazines, books, and paintings that serve as subjects of dialogues.

I have worked as an architectural design professor as well as having led workshops dealiing with various elements of artistic processes.

Approach the teacher with attention to yourself with an attitude of excitement knowing that you will learn as much about yourself as you will about your studies. And a good teacher will learn from you as well.

I am continuing to be juried into Plein Air events with a limited number of artist painting in a defined location.

I also am working at the Art League School in Alexandria, Virginia as a astudent myself doing figurative and portrait works. I love it!

My pricing depends on the number of students in a class. I am more interested in the development of someone's artistic abilities and their self realization through the same than I am in making a lot of money.
