About Bob

I teach teenagers who need the six hours for their driver training certificate. In the past I have held several California teaching dredentials. I have been teaching driver training in Santa Barbara for over 30 years with many references if desired. I care about teenagers safety and well-being as if they were my own and find this a rewarding way to make a positive diffference in their lives. You can find me on LinkedIn, Facebook, or gundersendriving.com

I was in an educatiion class at San Diego State University and saw a flyer that offered an18 hour certificate in safety education. I was interested in safety education, but didn't know if I would ever use it. It turned out to be one of the best things I've ever done.

I have had many driving jobs over the years and went to San Diego State University to get my designated single subject credential in Driver Training and Education.

About the lesson

I start students out with basic fundamentals of driving.

I've worked with special needs students and I've worked with students who have already raced motorcycles.

Look for someone with patience and a lot of experience.

I was training a student on his first lesson and he said, 'I didn't think I could do this". He was picking it up very quickly, so it gave me a good feeling to help someone do something they didn't think they could do.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How is this going to help me be a better person and what kinds of responsibilities go along with being a good driver?
