About Allison
My name is Allison and I’m from the state of Michigan in the US where I am currently living. I’m a 21 year old university student at the University of Michigan and I am currently studying Modern Languages with a minor in Paleontology. I have tutoring experience here at the university level, as well as English teaching experience abroad in both classroom and individual settings. My students have ranged from age 8 to age 42, all with different starting levels. I love helping people learn and am very flexible, so all lessons can be catered to your individual language needs.
Pursuing my language degree, starting from no background in the language I achieved fluency in Italian. Through this experience I gained a heightened understanding of the language learning process from the student perspective, and understand how to tackle common as well as uncommon obstacles we may encounter in our lessons.
The structure of my degree program allowed me to follow a wide range of courses at the university level in varying subject areas outside of my focus, so I can help with English tailored to science, literature, humanities, business or whatever other subject you require. I can also help native italian speakers in the area of translation as well provide enhanced explanations in their native language.
