About Katie
I offer tutoring in reading and writing. I particularly enjoy helping students craft essays (e.g., college application essays, school papers) and providing assistance in all stages of the writing process. I'm currently a Counseling Psychology PhD student and hold Bachelor's of Arts degrees in English and psychology from Northwestern University. I have 2 years of experience as a Teacher's Assistant at the University of Maryland, and also worked for 2 years as a writing tutor at a university writing center.
I love working with people and helping them fulfill their potential. I believe every student has strengths and it's important to draw upon their interests, skills and passions. I approach tutoring from a place of empathy, warmth and patience. I embrace questions. When it comes to writing, I love helping others express themselves clearly and authentically.
