About Teresa
I have tutored over 10 years. I prefer working with students one on one so I can give my full attention and extra help in areas where a student is having difficulties.
I also like students to tell me how they learn best so I can incorporate that in my lessons,
Students will have my email and phone so they can ask me questions any time.
Tutoring is very satisfying and joyful for me. When I see my students become better writers or readers, improve their grades and get confident with any English assignment they are given, it gives me joy because I know I made a difference in their lives.
I have tutored english grammar and writing to over 50 students from high school to PhD level.
When pursuing my Bachelor degree, I was hired in the English and writing Department at Coppin State University. I worked as a tutor even after graduating for a total of 5years.
I was offered the job by the head of the English department because of my high scores in the university entrance exams and I was exempted from 3 English classes.

I first do an introduction session where I get to know the student, what areas they're struggling with, the schedule they want and what their goal is. The student gets to ask me questions and tell me what learning style they prefer.
This first session is important because the student can know if I will be a good fit or not. It also gives me an idea of how to prepare my lessons to cater to the student.

I was introduced to Teresa by a friend who was tutored by her few years ago. I am so grateful that I got help from Teresa since I had given up on my English and Literature classes. I have never been a good writer, but Teresa made writing look very easy. She's out going, patient and fun. I really enjoyed her tutoring sessions. She was also very flexible.
