About Kayla
As a student who enjoys attending school, I love writing and telling a story through words on a page. My passion for writing developed during my freshman year of high school and since then, I've written multiple "A" papers while helping others achieve their desired goals with careful proofreading and editing. I use programs such as Google Docs to make suggestions to my student's writing and a premade checklist to ensure success with their essay. As a peer editor, I want to help others achieve maximum satisfaction when turning in their final essay.
I got started with teaching during my early years of high school. My classmates would come to me during class and ask me to help them edit their essays. I would use the same tactics that I utilize today and they would receive high scores.
As a student in high school, I was always admitted into honors or AP level English classes. I have written countless essays for classes that have received the highest grade possible.

When working with a new student, my first step is to get a full understanding as to what the essay is about. Next, I'll carefully read the essay 1-2 times noting any gramatical errors or punctuation errors. I will then use the highlighting tool on Google Docs to highlight the errors and make a key to showcase what each color means. For example, yellow is for a suggestion to use a different word and blue is for a gramatical error. After that, I'll give the essay back to the student and have them edit what is needed. Lastly, I'll reread the essay, give them a final grade and give them final suggestions.
I work with all students; middle school, high school, college (to certain extents), and adults!
