About Vivek

As a high school senior, I have thoroughly challenged in my academic pursuits. I have not only taken some of the most rigorous high school courses available, but have also excelled at them (13 APs). I leverage my experience as a former student into my work as a tutor; I relate to my students and my tutoring style reflects this. I know the feeling when a tough question stumps you and you don't know where to turn; I've been there, and I am confident that I can help guide you to your academic goals.

I enjoy showing students their progress over time. All students have the potential to succeed, but sometimes a few lapses in understanding can severely hinder their growth. I take pride in helping students improve and gain confidence. To me, the biggest reward as a tutor is seeing a student smile when they recognize how far they have come.

I first got into teaching when my sister's grades in elementary science were falling, and she needed help. I spent an hour after school with her twice a week reviewing what she was confused about, and helping her fill in the gaps in her understanding. I showed her how to utilize the resources she had, her notes, her textbook, and the internet to find ways to clear her doubts on her own. Now, she is doing remarkably well in science and doesn't need my help!

I usually hop on a phone call with the student or the parent of a student and basically figure out how I can help. From here, I prepare some material for the first session, and continue as we go along.
