I typically speak with parents intially and arrange a meeting. I think it's important to get to know students first before I work with them, so I'll ask them questions about themselves. Then I'll take a look at some of their work, test scores, etc. to take stock of where they are at. Then I devise a plan with parents as to how I can best help their child succeed.

My daughter really struggles with math. I have tried and tried to help her but as her parent, the only thing that comes of it are tears from the both of us. So i decided to get a tutor, and Kim was an excellent find! She gets right to it and has a way to help my daughter understand. She has received very low grades on all her tests so far this year. Just after 2 weeks with Kim she got an 86% on her last math test. I wish i had started sooner in the year. Would definitely recommend.
