About Sonia
I am comfortable working with students of all ages! From First Grade spelling or Junior Year AP Lit to Fourth Grade social studies to Senior Year Civics, I prioritize establishing a firm foundation of Humanities studies.
I teach a Social-Emotional Skills class to middle schoolers once a week! Teaching has always been something I've enjoyed, but rarely have the opportunity to do professionally.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree (2018) in Sociology with a Minor in English Literature from Whitworth University in Spokane, WA. I write grants and work in nonprofit management professionally, but miss utilizing my more creative and academic writing talents. I loved all my Language Arts classes all through primary and secondary school and would be excited at the opportunity to advise and enhance young minds as they go through the same journey.

I prefer to spend a bit of time getting to know the student outside of their academic sphere by discussing hobbies and interests, but then dive quickly into their coursework in order to identify and explore their particular areas of struggle, as well as their strengths.
I've worked extensively with elementary and middle school students.
