About Tiffany

I am a former special education teacher and administrator in elementary and middle schools. My passion is helping students with special needs, students who are significantly behind, and those who need extra motivation and creativity to grow academically.

I specialize in elementary ELA (phonics, grammar, spelling, writing, fluency, comprehension) handwriting, and remediation in elementary math.

I specifically work with the Wilson Reading Program, Read Naturally, Reading A to Z, Handwriting without Tears, Size Matters Handwriting, Touch Math, and Education.com.

The joy of watching a previously struggling student succeed is why I love working with students. I can't wait to help your child reach their goals and find their own passion for learning.

I've always been interested in the field of education. My family has a long history of educators and I decided to follow that same path. I started as an assistant teacher in a special education elementary school. While there, I feel in love with teaching, so I went to graduate school where I received my Masters in Special Education from George Washington University. I still hold the same passion for teaching after 10+ years in education!

I have a Masters in Special Education from George Washington University. I've worked as an educator in elementary and middle schools for 10 years. I am trained in many reading and math programs that help accelerate achievement including Wilson Reading, Read Naturally, Size Matters Writing Program, Handwriting without Tears and Touch Math.

About the lesson

First, I will begin to build a positive relationship with your child by introducing myself and asking them about their likes and dislikes. Then, I will do an assessment to see where your child is academically to then determine the best approach to help them learn. Finally, I will discuss with you the results of the assessment and my recommendations. Together we will agree on how I can best help your child succeed!

I am a special education teacher who works with students diagnosed with a variety of disabilities. This includes, but is not limited to, students with an emotional/behavioral disability, learning disability, intellectual disability, ADHD, Autism, and developmental delays.

I also have worked with students in general education who need extra help with their studies.

Every year my school holds a promotion ceremony where each class presents a song or skit based on a choosen theme. Watching students, who previously struggled academically and socially, expand their comfort zone and increase their self confidence is the highlight of the school year. The students would not have been able to achieve this without all the hard work academically and socially they put in throughout the school year. It is a wonderful way to celebrate their achievements and successes.
