About Abigail

I love getting into details and finding the most efficent way to get things done! I began tutoring students when I was in highschool focusing my areas of tutoring in Spanish and English. While receiving my B.A. in Linguistics and Italian at UCSB, I tutored students from both UCSB and SBCC in Italian and paper editing. I also received my TESOL certificate in 2016 while working at EF International Language School and have taught English abroad to both adults and children in Italy.

I've always had a passion for languages and writing. I find joy in seeing the connections between different languages. Passing what I've learned throughout my educational and professional career is one of the most rewarding experiences!

I've always loved teaching since I was a little girl. My first "real" experience tutoring students was when I was in highschool as a peer tutor, focusing in Spanish & English and my passion has only grown since then!

About the lesson

I like to understand the student's needs and work in a collabortive way with students. The job of a tutor is not to give a student all the answers but help guide them to the right way of thinking. When it comes to editing essay editing I also like to explain to student's reasons behind changes and how to improve their writing in the future.

I have worked with students of all ages, from all over the world. While I was a tutor at UCSB and SBCC I tutored students from all over the country and from various different background. I've also worked with students from literally all over the world, when I worked at EF International Language School - and then also taught English to students in Italy.

I love to travel and went to Bali this past year, I had never been exposed to Balinese and it is such a beautiful language!
