About Roger
My goal is to help students in their mastery of the English language and conversation by using a variety of tools to bring out the English speaker within. Everybody comes from a different culture and background, so it's important to have the flexibility to adapt based on the student's needs and goals.
Besides the typical qualifications that everybody has, I am a strong believer in learning the language in a way that is practical, efficient, and based on the real world.
Having grown up in a multicultural family with native fluency in both English and Japanese, combined with the unique perspective as an IT analyst, professional sports translator, and active forex trader, I can provide a fresh new perspective on mastery of the language.
Helping others gain the ability to really express himself/herself through another language and expand their potential on a personal and business level is truly rewarding.
10+ years as a professional interpreter in Major League Baseball and almost 20 years in helping clients in assimilating to the American culture.

The initial step will be to gather information from the student on what his/her goals are and what they would like to accomplish. We can then create a plan on how to achieve that in the most optimal and efficient way possible.
Make sure to find someone who will listen and pay attention to you and your needs. Creativity in how to present the message/lesson is very important because everybody has a unique way of understanding and processing information. Someone who is positive, encouraging and understands the challenges of expressing oneself in another language is very beneficial.
