About Gina

Hello! My name is Gina Wagner. It is nice to meet you! I am a creative and energetic teacher, who is passionate about teaching children around the world how to read. With 10 years of experience teaching children ages 5-12, I am excited and prepared to help your child show literacy growth. I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but currently live and am teaching from Richmond, Virginia. I have experience teaching English in Moscow, Russia. I have worked in a private international school in Stuttgart, Germany, and public schools in the states of North Carolina and Virginia. Throughout the last 2 years, since the pandemic started, I have perfected my online teaching skills, and am known for making online learning fun and engaging for elementary students. I was named "Teacher of the Year" for the 2020-2021 school year with my place of employment, for going above and beyond to ensure my students made reading progress while in a virtual setting. I enjoy teaching reading to students from around the world. It us my passion and I strive to make it enjoyable in the virtual world.

I always wanted to be a teacher. I love being creative and making effective and engaging lessons. Seeing students succeed is a joy to me. I went to college for elementary education and have a Bachelor' Degree in Education.

I have been teaching for 10 years. I have a teaching certificate with endorsements in ESL K-12, and elementary education k-6. I have taught English in Moscow, Russia, grades 1-5 at an international school in Germany, and grades k and 1 at public schools in the US.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, I meet with them (free of charge) to assess their knowledge and determine the most effective lessons for them to make academic growth.

I have worked with students in grades K-5. I have taught native English speakers, as well as English language learners. I've been a classroom teacher for the last 10years and have taught students with many different learning styles and personalities.

Be honest and try your best!

A recent event I am fond of? My dachshund took a walk for the first time in 2 months, after suffering and recovering from a serious neurological injury. It made my heart happy.
