About Bella

My name is Bella Wayans, I am currently a student studying at Stanford University with a GPA of 3.92. I plan to major in Symbolic Systems with a minor in Arts Practice. I graduated from Sierra Canyon High School in the Cum Laude Society and National Honors Society. I have also received awards in art and writing from the National Scholastic Press Association. I worked at a summer camp for five years, so I have a lot of experience working with young children.

When I was in highschool, a lot of my parents' friends knew that I was a high achieving student, so they would ask me to help their children with their homework or edit their essays. I found to work to be really fulfilling for me because I felt like I was helping people to become life longer learners.

About the lesson

Before working with a student, I like to set up specific goals and milestones for them to meet in order for them to feel like they are making progress and improving as a student. As I get to know students, it will become more clear what the excell at and what they struggle with, and I will get a better idea of how to help that student. I want to help students improve their grades and study habits, but, more importantly, I want to turn them into a student that doesn't need my help in order to excell.

I have worked with young kids ages 3-5 on things such as shapes, colors, and numbers. I have also worked with highschool students in English up to AP levels, history up to AP levels, intermediate spanish, math up to Algebra II, and biology.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think that when students have problems it is important to be solution oriented. If you come to a teacher with a problem, you should have some ideas in mind of what can be done to fix that problem, and be willing to work with your teachers to create an outcome that is beneficial to you.
