About
My name is Alejandro, and I have a professional background in investment banking and private equity, with experience working on live M&A and strategic advisory transactions involving large public and private companies. I have been tutoring for over 5 years, specializing in finance, valuation, financial modeling, Excel, corporate finance, accounting, and interview preparation.
Through my investment banking experience, I have applied many of the same topics students learn in the classroom to real-world transaction and corporate finance settings. I have worked extensively in Excel and PowerPoint, including building and reviewing valuation analyses, financial models, and transaction materials used in live deal processes. I can help with discounted cash flow analysis, leveraged buyout modeling, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, M&A concepts, accounting for finance, corporate finance coursework, and investment banking technical interviews.
I am especially strong at helping students understand not just how to complete a model or finance problem, but why the concepts matter in practice. Whether you are preparing for an interview, working through a finance class, building an Excel model, or trying to better understand valuation and corporate finance, I can break the material down in a clear and practical way. Before beginning my full-time finance career, I completed a Master of Science in Finance program at the University of Florida and worked as the Financial Controller for a local biotech startup.
