About Neil
Nearly 30 years professional experience and 10 years teaching at the university level. I make each lesson customized to the individual player and make every effort to speak their language in explaining concepts to speed their improvement.
Seeing the "lightbulb" go on in their faces and hearing the progress they make in their playing with my ideas.
Privately at home and then at DePaul University.
I have been 2nd horn with Lyric Opera of Chicago for 13 years and 2nd horn with Chicago's Grant Park Orchestra for 20 years. I have taught at DePaul University for nearly 10 years.

I work on whatever music the student brings in, but I specialize in orchestral and opera excerpts as well as solo repertoire.
Mostly college aged and beyond with some high school students as well.
I enjoy dedicated studets looking to refine their skills for auditions or preparing for a career in music, but will work with almost any player.
