Hallo everyone! I'm Amra, but my friends call me Amy. I'm a 30-year-old German teacher and PhD student, living in the North of Germany. I hold a Master's degree in English, Spanish, and German as a Foreign Language.

I have gained much teaching experience at various academic levels from my time instructing in Germany, the United States, and South America.

My priorities include that you feel seen, heard, and free to express your opinions. I wish to have you experience success, and teach in a way that is in harmony with your needs and expectations. Achieving this is what I enjoy the most about my job.

My family and high school teachers suggested a career in teaching because I am especially gifted in languages and a fun presenter and know how to motivate my (fellow) students. Thanks to their advice, I studied languages to become a teacher and have loved every moment of it.

I studied to become a teacher, so I completed didactic and pedagogical training. I've taught for almost 10 years, at various academic levels on three continents.

About the lesson

I would need to understand the students' motivation for learning German: Are they learning German for fun, or are they planning on starting a job in a German-speaking country? Knowing what other languages they speak helps me create better exercises.

I have tutored all ages, from young kids in elementary school to adults.

For teaching in general, it is important that you feel seen and heard by the teacher. Trust your gut feeling: If you don't have a good impression and don't feel comfortable with the teacher, keep looking. You learn best when you are having fun - contrary to what Mrs. Trunchbull says :D

I love to help my students see for themselves how smart and succesful they are with a little help. That really makes my day :)
