About the lesson

Improving the golf swing starts from the start. If the set-up is improved, the backswing will be easier to improve and if the backswing improves, the top of the swing will improve.

Many instructors can see that an adjustment needs to be made. The key to great instruction is knowing how to relate it to the student so that they can do it. Knowing how long to work on an swing issue and what cues and drills will alllow for it is what better instructors know.

I feel what separates me from other instructors is that I can see the end goal from the start. I can, step by step, walk golfers through the process so that they know what to expect.

I have worked with all types of students:

*beginners

*juniors

*high handicappers

*professional athletes

*mini-tour players

Experience is critical in golf instruction. Many people think they know the golf swing, but the finer points of communication, etc. are much improved through experience.

A student who shoots a career-low round is always a highlight. I recently had a student who got a hole-in-one after our first lesson.

I have had over 700 students who have shot their career-low round after lessons with me.

Perfect! John is a great teacher! He is encouraging and expresses what I am doing right and what I need to work on in a very positive way. Also, he is flexible with scheduling which is important to me as my work schedule can change suddenly. Speaking of work, he has an indoor air conditioned teaching facility that allows me to have a mid morning lesson and go directly back to work. I highly recommend John and the Roving Golf Academy.

Perfect! John is very easy to communicate with, very flexible with scheduling and is very adept at quickly assessing a golf swing.
John keeps the lessons active with focus on 1-2 swing thoughts and 2-3 drills/solutions.
John’s approach is rock solid and I am looking coward to my sessions.

I shot 87 on Thursday and 75 today on the same course in essentially the
same conditions. 9/14 fairways and 10/18 greens. Thanks for helping me
get back on track yesterday!

Just shot my lowest round ever today (87) in Sarasota from the blue tees. Also, used the same ball for the entire round (also a first). Thanks.

I wanted to send you and email and say thanks for all of your help. I am really hitting the ball well and my friends noticed the difference in my game...although they were not necessarily happy about it. We played 4 rounds of golf, which is 56 tee shots, not counting the par threes. I could count my bad drives on one to two hands. I was like a machine, just hitting the ball down the middle every time. My friend asked me if I had a trampoline in my driver head. I also did something I have never done before. I birdied three holes in a row. Pretty nice. Before the trip, I went back over my last lesson with you, and worked hard on staying down. My only swing thought all weekend was "swing short over a bent right knee". My putter failed me a little, but that's okay. I realized late in the weekend, with the fast greens, that I was decelerating on my putts, causing me to be slightly off. I burned a lot of edges and had a few three putts before I figured it out.

I wanted to let you know the work is paying off. I am excited about this next year. I really believe if we continue to work, that I can shoot consistently in the 70's.
