About Mac
From a young age, I loved math, a passion that took me all the way to an engineering degree at Dartmouth. I couple this academic background with a variety of career experiences - time working in finance, as an analyst at the CIA, and pursuing research in applied math and statistics - that allow me to appreciate not only the subject itself, but all of the possible implications it can have in the world. My breadth of experience helps me tailor each lesson to what the student hopes to get out of it.
In addition to math, I love helping students with test prep. I scored in the 90+% of the SAT and GRE, and recognize how necessary these tests can be to helping students achieve their academic goals, as well as how overwhelming they seem. Watching students realize their own potential by seeing standardized tests as a game rather than an obstacle, and therefore increase their scores, is one of the most satisfying parts of tutoring.
I have an engineering degree from Dartmouth and have scored in the 90+% of the SAT and GRE. I have informally tutored peers at the middle school through college levels.
