About Zachariah
My name is Zach Rollins, and I've been playing and studying guitar for over 14 years now, and I've been teaching since 2017. My goal as a guitar teacher is to provide every student with the guidance they'll need to develop a solid foundation of good technique and musical knowledge as well as to foster their sense of personal expression and creativity on the instrument. Learning guitar can seem very difficult at first, but I strive to help each student not just gain consistent progress, but to have fun doing it.
I love teaching guitar because I want to share the immense joy playing guitar has given me in life, and I love to bring out the unique potential every player has in them one lesson or jam session at a time.
I started freelance teaching when I began attending Northwest University in 2017. Since then I have taught many players of various skill levels and musical backgrounds.
I have been playing guitar for over 14 years and have been teaching since 2017 to players of all skill levels and styles. I study many styles including jazz, rock, blues, metal, folk, and country.

I like to give every new student a free first lesson and use that time to discuss the students' personal learning goals and favorite music. From there, I take the time to design personalized exercises, practice routines, and songs for students to learn on a weekly basis and give helpful real time solutions to the challenges of learning guitar.
I have mostly worked with adult learners but am very open to teaching children as I believe providing children with a proper musical education as early as possible can have profound effects on their playing and their enjoyment of the instrument.
I would suggest students look for an instructor who is good at problem solving to help them overcome obstacles in their playing and who give them engaging material to practice so that they not only build good technical skills, but just as importantly importantly, good musicianship.
One my favorite recent events was being able to go to the NAMM Convention in Anaheim in 2019 where I got to see cutting edge music technology as well as see some of my favorite guitarists perform live for gear demos such as Eric Gales and Tosin Abasi.

My current rates are $25 for a 1/2 hour session and $45 for a 1 hour session. However, I always give the first lesson for free.
