I began my professional career in my teens in Seattle as a Theatre Actor, Singer/Songwriter and Busker in 1984-88. Also during that time I studied at North Carolina School of the Arts in disciplines of Stanislavski, Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler, Uta Hagen, the Alexander Technique for voice, breath and speech, and Chekov .. with some Clowning .. primarily per the rigors of Russian teacher, Yuri Belov of the Moscow Art Theatre. Upon return to Seattle, I continued study in private instruction with Mark Jenkins (U.W. Professor Emeritus, Acting) and his scene study work, modeled upon (famed) "The Actor's Studio" and Lee Strasberg's method.

After an auspicious professional debut, my theatre career grew fat but cut short when I jumped from local non union film and TV gigs to landing my first feature film role in Keith Gordon's "The Chocolate War", then cult hit "The Class of 1999". I'd joined the Screen Actors Guild and left for Los Angeles and remain active since 1988. Working in L.A. also led to writing, producing, music scoring, and singing/songwriting for film and TV.

My filmography at (concealed information) has all acting roles in Film & Television, and adds credits in writing, music composition, song placements, and producing.

In 1989-90 music, writing and recording blew up in my career activities and through Manager/Producer Andrew Slater (Fiona Apple, Jakob Dylan), I had the privilege of recording my songs with Warren Zevon, Adam Youk and Mike D. at the Beastie Boys' studio, and Zevon and Don Henley's band at A&M Records. My bands played great Sunset Strip venues, went solo again for a courtship with Sony & Randy Jackson, developing with producer/musician Corrado Rustici (Elton, Mariah, Bono, Pavarotti) and asked to write three songs with Italian Pop-Star, Elisa Toffoli. Just as I was cast in MGM's musical TV show "Fame-L.A.", I signed a deal with Motion City Records to produce my concept album, "Albion Moonlight and the Sea of Troubles". When that was done a friend handed it to legendary Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, John Lennon), who thought I was "one of the best songwriters to come along since Lennon" (or so I'm told). He got a band to back me and we planned for my second album, after I finished 13 tracks with Guitar God and friend Derek Frigo (Enuff-z-Nuff)... cut to a stop by his untimely death in 2004. That knocked me down a while, and out of it rerouted my direction into an inspired desire to focus my life on helpfulness to others.

As to my Chef life, I began cooking at home as a kid age seven, took to it immediately, and my mom started to invite friends over for Saturday and Sunday omelette brunch in "my kitchen". My approach to cooking was like painting or writing or making melodies, it was all about the best "note" selections with the right "brush strokes" in all of it. I've staffed in restaurant kitchens from Italian, to French, to Nuveaux Pan-Asian and "designer" comfort foods. I enjoy instilling kitchen confidence. I'll also teach Mediterranean, Mexican / Latin, Healthy, Vegetarian / Vegan, Pescatarian, etc, and basic prep skills, knife skills, soups, sauces, a little baking, and desserts.

I enjoy being a part of helping those in what can turn out to be some of the most noble of life pursuits; the creative life that most changes our internal level of esteem, to our imagination, to our vision of the world around, to our relations and ultimately our position in a creative life on a creative life's terms and a new freedom in loving what that is, as it is, in what fosters gratitude and the empowerment to creative self actualization.

I hit a point in my life where it became really clear to me how fortunate I had been, how many people had helped me, how much time, energy, effort, patience, plus tolerance for my youthful rebellions and self-centered drives had been huge, the long and the short of it is that I had been overpaid by grace, and somewhere in my later 30s, I had a moment of clarity, and it seem like a lot of what I aspire to do was it didn't matter if I didn't take my good favor and try to spread it around the people who didn't have as much as I did. I grew up in a household and a family of educators, teachers, and exemplary leaders, so I inherently knew how to coach, give direction and water and feed a sleeping seed. I always enjoyed learning and I was able to translate that into. the teaching that other people could enjoy as much as I did.

I've studied and worked at all of it professionally, that's the substance of what I draw upon for directing others, helping, fostering, based on real practical experiential knowledge ... other than that I'm just kind of a naturally artistic goofball 😉.

I make a LOT of creative inquiry, and to look & listen for the talents some of us tend to have hidden habitually, to uncover and discover what will best serve the artist in advancing growth, confidence and spirit.

Perfect! Brent David Fraser has a ton of experience acting in the film and TV industry, he teaches me really simple pro audition techniques, we do cold reading, scene work and monlogue work. It's clarified the difference between auditioning for theater and for film and TV and commercials. The kind of stuff you only learn from someone who did it for so many years. Plus knowing all about professional theater, music, writing, producing and directing there's just about nothing he can't give me new perspectives on for how to approach my work with confidence. He's helping me with my singing too, and I've always wanted to write my own songs ... guess what - he's good at that also. Yeah, I like totally, completely recommend you get with Brent if you want to get coaching and direction that's really going to help you in a practical way toward progress in your actual career. I see him regularly and it's like my favorite day of the week when I do.
