About Jayden
Experienced in Jazz, Hiphop, Hard rock, Metal, Alternative, and more! If you are a student more interested in learning how to play guitar, not just a few songs, then this is the place for you! I have experience working with students of all ages from kids age 7-12, to adults in their 60's! Any one can learn any instrument at anytime, as long as they are determined and enjoy what they are learning!
My favorite feeling in the world is playing a part of a song on my instrument and getting it to sound right. Seeing the expression on a student's face when they play a part correctly is one of the greatest rewards on earth. Music is such a wonderful way to connect and grow individually and with other people!
After studying and performing many different genres of music, I discovered that in order to broaden my knowledge and continue to grow, that I must teach what I have learned and in turn learn more from the "innocence" of less advanced guitar and bass players. A teacher learns just as much as a student when they meet.
I have taken NYC Guitar School's teacher training course where I recieved knowledge and training on how to work with students of all ages, as well as conduct a lesson for individuals and groups of up to eight students. I have expereince working at NYC Guitar School's as an intern and junior teacher as well.

First I would like to ask a few questions to learn what genre of music the student likes, what bands or artists they like, and if they have any prior knowledge of guitar. Whether or not the student is brand new to guitar, the first thing to go over is open chords, and changing between them.
I have worked with young children aged 7-12, teenagers from 13-17, and even given lessons to adults, one in their 40's and one in their 60's. Anyone who is really interested in learning how to play guitar, and is willing to put the time into can learn how to play any instrument.
Look for a teacher who not only makes you feel comfortable, but also one who has a similar music interest to you. Do not be discouraged if a teacher asks you to learn different music, expanding your horizions musically is very important to getting better at guitar.
One student I worked with at NYC Guitar School's told me that I was so helpful to him, that he wished he could find out what my favorite guitar is, save up enough money, and buy it for me. First time a student shared appreciation like that to me, even brought a tear to my eyes.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Are you willing to take the advice of your teacher, no matter how silly it may seem at first? Are you willing to make mistakes and "sound bad" for a while if you are a new student? Are you willing to practice between lessons?
