At Guitar Lessons Made Simple you'll get the patience you need to pursue the guitar whatever your pace. I try to reiterate new concepts a few different ways to help you understand.
Here you get a combination of playing your own favorite songs in additional to foundational techniques which I bring.
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: I go through the basic chords, and ask if they've had any other musical background with note-reading or anything like that which can help. If they're already past that stage we dig right in to more advanced material.

Meeting new interesting people. When I see them progress it's exciting to see. When you've been practicing consistently, the growth seems very slow, sometimes difficult, but I see the progress from week to week, and definitely notice when it happens.
When I know I've been a part of the creative development of others it feels amazing to have made a difference.
There were people who wanted me to teach them, and my landlord at the time had a studio, so it just worked out.
I loved seeing people grow as they not only got better on their instrument, but grew in maturity, focus, etc. It's an amazing job!
I majored in Music and have played guitar and piano for over 25 years. I've taught guitar over 10 years, and have experience in working with different types of people, from creative types to more logical types who need a more systematic approach.

If they haven't bought a guitar I help them through the process giving them suggestions and resources through phone, text, or email. Once we meet, we talk about our backgrounds and music they like, and what they'd like to learn. Then I show them a few of the main beginner chords like E, A, D, Em, and Am.
I try to get them playing songs as soon as possible, which is usually the first few weeks.
Many of my students tend to be teenagers. Adults are definitely welcome. It's never too late to learn!
Make sure the instructor is aware that the student is learning something new and be willing to back it up, repeat and take it slow, not condescending. If the instructor is just jamming and making you watch and not understanding the material, you've wasted your time and money.
I get excited when I see students progress when I know they've been working hard at it. And when someone sings or plays a song they really love, it makes it worth all the time and work put into it.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What style do I want to learn? Keep a few of your favorite songs in mind, because that helps shape the direction of the lessons.
Are you willing to have the patience to work with a beginner such as myself? Lots of guitarists play great, but not all teach well. These are different skills entirely.
