About Roy

Music is my passion. I’m a performing musician as well as music teacher. After playing and touring in several bands, as well as studying music at the University of Colorado Denver I decided to open Roy Catlin Music Studio. My goal is to create a service that is not only passionate about the students success, but also fun and convenient for all parties involved. I’ve worked with hundreds of students of all ages and skill levels over the years and I look forward to working with you in the the future!

Roy Catlin Music Studio is a music lessons service focused on teaching students of all ages and skill levels.

We offer in home lessons tailored to your specific schedule so you can have lessons from the comfort of your home at your convenience. We also have a studio location in Grand Junction and offer Skype lessons for those who don’t have the option of in home lessons.

I started working for a company that gave in home lessons throughout the Denver area in 2012. I really enjoyed the work and getting to know my students so I decided to open my own business.

I studied music performance at the University of Colorado. I’ve also performed hundreds of times and toured the country numerous times in rock bands.

About the lesson

My goal for all of my students is to learn the things they are interested in and insuring that they have fun with their lessons. I do focus a lot on theory and technique but also on learning songs that the student enjoys. I’m very laid back and fun loving and I want all of my students to enjoy their time with me.

I’ve worked with students of all ages from 4 to 75 and all skill levels. I’m very patient with all of my students and go at the pace they require.

Find someone who will work with your schedule and go at your pace. Music isn’t a competition, it’s for personal growth and satisfaction. It should always be about your enjoyment and the person teaching you needs to understand and cultivate that.

I’ve been teaching a young man for the past 4 years and when I met him he wasn’t very interested in Guitar. Through the years of working with him I’ve seen him progress immensely and he recently stared his own band. It made me very proud to be his teacher.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Is this something you can commit to weekly or does your schedule change frequently? Lessons are meant to be fun but missing lessons frequently can definitely set you back. Consistentcy and commitment are key.
