About Rob

My teaching approach:

Learn to improvise solos, play in a lot less time, but the right way! I teach any Level of Player! As far as production, I teach songwriting/composition, arranging, producing & the process of recording and building tracks in varied styles. Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

First I assess their level by asking certain questions. I can tell how a student holds a guitar how good he is. Depending on his level, The most important thing at first is to know all the notes on the neck. I have a super quick method for this. Before they move on, they must know the "musical alphabet" and to be able to identify notes quickly! I also give finger exercises to strengthen proper muscles and to build independence in the fingers!

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

Depends the level of the student, but basically I thoroughly teach them the instrument correctly using my no stress method. This method is not a "trained chimp" method of just learning songs and imitating them without understanding them. This method is heavily based on chord theory & technique! This will allow them to at some point play everything from blues to rock to jazz, depending how long the student continues lessons! I make them players!

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

Most students are good students if they have natural talent to start! Also to pay attention and learn in order what I give them. If they do it the suggested way, they will advance quickly with no stress! Ask questions! Please don't tell me how to teach you! The tail doesn't wag the dog! lol.
