About Brandon
I am excited to begin teaching bass and guitar students. I have performance experience as a Carnival Cruise Lines musician. Teaching is also something that excites me. I have had students of all ages, and enjoy teaching online or in person. Teaching bass is something I learned while studying music at DePaul University. Please contact me in order to start lessons!
I like to start every student with a blues foundation. We will learn blues guitar licks every week because the blues is the foundation of American music. I love to see my students improve over time.
I got started teaching when I was attending DePaul University Music School. I started in 2005 with a few students that I had found on Craigslist. I've been building my studio ever since.
I have a Master's Degree in Music Performance from DePaul University. While studying there I recieved training on how to teach private music lessons.

I typically work to find out what skills the student already has, and I start lesson planning around their current skill set.
I've worked with students as young as 6 years old all the way up to students in their 40s. I have worked with students who are beginners and some advanced students.
I would advise that you find a teacher who specializes in bass guitar. There are a lot of guitar players who don't ever play bass in a group setting who will want to teach you bass. Playing in a group is where you get the best experience.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think about what songs they want to learn. They should also think about playing in a group setting, even if it's preparing to play in an open mic situation. Students should think about whether they want to learn to read music as well.

Working with Brandon is great! I started taking lessons with Brandon after taking a break from playing for a long time. Brandon is giving me an appropriate combination of theory, scales, rhythm, and exercises to challenge but not overwhelm me. Brandon is easy to work with and always has useful feedback on my playing.
Skilled and very professional as well as knowledgeable about his craft. Well rounded can play Alternative Rock to R&B and Blues as well as Classical. He can give you the tools and prepare you to play anything you want.
