About Ben
I been playing and teaching guitar for over 25 years, I play acoustic and electric and play everything from Metal to Jazz or Folk. I specialize in teaching improvisation for both rhythm and lead players.
I love learning and teaching music is a great way to learn new things. I can teach you how to play guitar but I will also learn new songs new music styles, just by being around new people and sounds. It is a great way to share and help others enjoy music.
Years ago when I was touring with bands, I would have other guitar players ask for lessons to learn more in a different style or just improve their playing. I have always enjoyed it and have been told I am a good teacher.
I have been a guitar player for over 25 years. I have been in bands recorded music for commercials and movies. I have a BFA and studied both music and art.

I like to find out what they want to play. All guitar playing begins in the same place; getting comfortable with the intrument, coordinating your two hands, learning how to fret and strum etc... But i like to know where they want to go with it. That helps us set goals and makes it fun to learn.
I have taught many students who are avid hobbyists and some that have gone on to be professional musicians. It is a diverse group in both style and age and I am really proud of all of them.
Make sure you pick a good teacher not just a good player. A lot of players are wonderful musicians but maybe not as adept at teaching. Ask lots of questions and think about if they seem like a good fit for you.
Playing music live outdoors with friends on a nice summer day. That is always a wonderful time.
