About Michael

As a rock guitarist rooted in blues logic and skilled in jazz techniques, I'm passionate about empowering students with the fundamental building blocks and necessary details to create their own music, while also honoring the rich traditions passed down by my teachers. My approach involves thorough research to achieve project goals, a talent for seamlessly blending diverse styles and arranging music, and a focus on slowing down the mind for precise attention to detail. Having explored many genres, I've recently deepened my connection to music, learning to execute ideas from the heart and making my playing an extension of my soul, eager to share my "bag of tricks" on how to creatively integrate different styles into one's playing.

As a rock guitarist with a blues foundation and jazz technique, my passion as a teacher lies in empowering students with the fundamental necessities to create anything they desire, while honoring musical tradition through passing on time-tested knowledge. My approach involves thorough research to achieve goals, and I excel at seamlessly meshing diverse styles and arranging music. Having cultivated the ability to slow down the mind for acute attention to detail, and with a deep study of various genres, I aim to help students execute ideas from the heart, truly making their playing an extension of their soul by sharing my "bag of tricks" for integrating other styles into their unique voice.
