About Hudson

Hi! My name is Hudson. I am a guitarist from Seattle and recently graduated from Berklee College of Music. I love to teach all different kinds of genres including blues, rock, soul, pop, etc. Aside from guitar I am also able to teach ear training, songwriting, and production. I like to teach students how to become musicians instead of just guitar players.

I enjoy connecting with all sorts of people on a musical level! I like spending time working out difficult parts of songs and watching growth in musicians. Music is something that has been a really deep part of my life. Spending time connecting with people is also something that gives me purpose so to put both of those together and being able to help people find joy through music is an amazing experience! I started teaching in highschool. Many people in my community came to watch my performances and liked what I did so started asking me to teach them or their kids. From then on I taught on the side and have had a great time!

I took private lessons in school then played in a few bands and went on tour. I also graduated from Berklee College of Music.

About the lesson

My typical process fro working with students is getting to know the student first. Finding out what their interests are and what level they are at and taking it from there. We go over exercises for speed and smoothness then practice through songs they are interested in and do some ear training to help for when they play in bands, jams or other musical performances.

I have worked with kids as young as 8 and adults as old as 70. I have worked with a variety of people all at different stages of their musical journey.

The advice I would give to a student looking to hire a teacher is to look for someone who can cater to your needs. If you are trying to learn to play classical music look for a teacher who has experience in that genre. If you want to play rock and roll on electric look for someone who can do that!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think through what they would like to accomplish and what their goals are. They should also think about how much time they can put into learning guitar. All is possible with time and practice.

My standard pricing is 20 dollars for half hour or 30 dollars for the full hour. These prices are much cheaper than if you were to go to a music school.
