Kung Fu essentially means “mastery through time and effort.” It requires discipline, consistent routine and habit for practicing and mastering the basic building blocks of any art/skill/trade or talent. It also requires practical application and lots of play! This implies that with Time and Effort YOU can MASTER anything you want with the proper training.

The idea of becoming a Kung Fu Music Master is that you can eventually play any style of music with anyone, anywhere in the world. Whether you are a complete beginner, or a performing professional, Kung Fu Music Lessons will help you become a true music master.

I have designed the Kung Fu Guitar Curriculum with a strap ranking system specifically for the guitar. This curriculum is a chronological pathway to mastering the foundation of music and the guitar as an instrument. I will help you marry the 2 and become a true Kung Fu Guitar Master.

Strap (belt) System: Each strap represents a new level of skill and mastery of the students knowledge of music and ability to create with the guitar. To reach a new level of mastery the students will need to memorize and play specific elements of the curriculum in chronological order.

*There are 9 different straps/ranks that show your level in the Kung Fu Guitar curriculum.

White, Yellow, Orange, Red, Green, Blue, Purple, Black and Yin/Yang (white and black)

**The flow of each lesson:

Each guitar lesson is set up like a Kung Fu classes. Here is the typical lay out for Kung Fu classes and the relationship for the guitar lessons.

1. Stretch your body - Stretch fingers and hands

2. Basic exercises for strength training like push ups and sit ups etc - Finger exercises, scales etc...

3. Techniques like punches, kicks etc... - rhythm guitar, pick and finger style training

4. Go over “forms” - play songs/review material and learn different styles

5. Apply the moves from forms and work on them - learn parts of a new songs and work on it

6. Spar - jam session and trade solos!

7. Cool down - recap of the lesson and take notes

This program is great for people who really want to learn. Perfect for a complete beginner (and anyone) to get a strong foundation of musical understanding and playability on the instrument.

Also for the intermideiate levels who have been playing for a long time but still have "holes" in there understanding of music and the instrument.

Also for professionals and artits who want to countinue reaching for real mastery.

You will get your own curriculum and colored strap for your level. We meet on zoom and train the curriculum together.

About the lesson

Guitar lessons offered by Jared are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Olivette. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
